I’m back on stage! (And by stage, I mean the one where I won’t require a spandex and some well rehearsed body rolls)
Nope, this time, it’s a full-length play!
Recall, the last time I was on stage was for the 06 Ensemble’s Bench Projects (and a couple of stage readings in between) and that was such a treat. This time, I’ve been fortunate enough to be cast in THE STRANGE CASE OF CITIZEN DE LA CRUZ written by renowned Filipino novelist, Luis H. Francia!
It’ll be produced by Bindlestiff Studios in San Francisco -a group I’ve been wanting to work with for a few years now. And to top it off, I’ll be directed by the incredibly talented (and tenacious), Jeffrey Lo! Jeffrey, if you’ve forgotten, was one of my guest bloggers in March who wrote about ‘Just doing it’..IT being whatever it is you want to accomplish in life.
I want to invite you to join me on another adventure. Here’s what you can expect:
- Behind-the-curtain photos
- An update on how the play is doing
- My promise that I’ll share (positives, negatives, indifferences) that I come across as I set out to discover the story and how my role affects the narrative’s ecosystem. In other words, the skinny on the shindig.
- Photos of food…because come on, where Filipinos are involved, there’s gotta be food.
I had a chance to glance at the rehearsal schedule and boy is it on a fast track. The first cast read through will be next Monday (8/13/12), and we’re noted to be off-book three weeks after. But hey, that’s how the pros do it, right?
